CS2 Exam Preparation Strategy – Paper A and Paper B

CS2 – Risk Modelling and Survival Analysis requires strong conceptual understanding along with regular question practice and practical R skills. For the September 2026 examination, students should prepare separately for Paper A and Paper B.

Paper A Preparation

1. Focus on Concepts

Understand the concepts thoroughly and prepare short notes for important formulas, definitions and methods.

2. Practise Questions

After completing each topic, solve the chapter questions followed by Revision Notes and X-Series questions. Practise different question types rather than repeating only familiar ones.

3. Practise MS Word

Paper A is a Word-based online examination, so practise writing complete solutions in MS Word. Focus on typing speed, mathematical workings and clear presentation.

4. Practise Under Time Limits

As the exam approaches, solve mixed-topic questions with a time limit to improve speed and accuracy.

Paper B Preparation

1. Strengthen R Programming

Learn the required R programming basics and understand the application of R code used throughout the syllabus.

2. Practise R-Based Questions

Practise questions using R and focus on understanding the output and its interpretation, not just the code.

3. Attempt Past Papers

Use previous CS2 papers as timed mock tests. Practise Paper B in the R environment to become comfortable with the exam workflow.

Final Preparation Tips

Maintain a mistake log and regularly revise weak areas.

In the final days, focus on revision, past papers and mock tests rather than learning large amounts of new material.

CS2 Preparation Formula

Understand → Practise → Apply in R → Analyse Mistakes → Mock Tests → Revise

For CS2, consistency is more important than last-minute preparation. Build confidence through repeated practice and become comfortable with both MS Word and R before exam day.

Exam Dates:

Paper A – 15th September 2026

Paper B – 17th September 2026
