The Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) has introduced subject-level exemptions for students who have successfully passed specified Society of Actuaries (SOA) examinations.
This initiative provides SOA students with an effective pathway to continue their actuarial education through IAI without repeating subjects for which they already hold eligible SOA qualifications.
Total: 4 IAI Subject Exemptions
The exemptions cover the four IAI subjects CS1, CM1, CB1 and CB2, subject to the applicable SOA qualification and IAI exemption requirements.
How to Apply for the Exemption
Eligible students can claim their exemption through the IAI member portal:
- Log in to your IAI account.
- Go to the Exemptions section.
- Select the relevant SOA subjects you have successfully passed.
- Submit the required documentation and complete the exemption claim process.
IAI has stated that the timelines for applying for these exemptions through the new member portal will be notified separately.
This initiative gives SOA students greater flexibility to continue their actuarial journey with IAI while receiving credit for eligible SOA qualifications.
