In 2016, Ravi Vyas — a semi-qualified actuary who'd worked through the system himself — watched too many students get let down by coaching institutes that overpromised: high fees, overcrowded classrooms, faculty who'd never sat the exams they taught, and no support after a failed attempt.
On 1st October 2016, he opened S.MONK in Mumbai with a different model: 30 students per batch, personal attention for every student, and a genuine promise — if you don't pass, you come back and study for free.
