About the Role

Business actuary support connects actuarial analysis with strategic, financial, and operational decision-making. It focuses on applying actuarial insights beyond technical valuation to support business planning, performance assessment, capital management, and risk-informed strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management: Detailed analysis of performance, profitability, and risk characteristics across lines of business; identify underperforming segments and support portfolio optimisation decisions.
  • Strategic & New Business Planning: Assess market opportunities, evaluate new business propositions, and forecast financial, capital, and risk outcomes for both short-term and long-term planning.
  • Stress & Scenario Testing: Evaluate robustness of business plans under adverse but plausible conditions, incorporating economic downturns, regulatory changes, market volatility, and emerging risks.
  • Capital Monitoring: Provide tools and frameworks for ongoing monitoring of capital adequacy, solvency position, and regulatory capital ratios.
  • Strategic Advisory to the Board: Translate complex technical analyses into decision-focused inputs for board-level deliberation, providing independent insight on actuarial strategy, capital management, and risk governance.

Qualifications

Service applicable to Life Insurance, Health Insurance, General (Non-Life) Insurance, Reinsurance, and Portfolio Management sectors.
