The CIA is the national organisation for the actuarial profession in Canada with 3,900+ member fellows. It provides actuarial education, sets standards, and conducts examinations. Canada's immigration-friendly policies make this a sought-after qualification for Indian students.
The German Actuarial Association with over 5,300 members is the professional body for actuaries in Germany. The qualification requires a mathematics degree plus 36 months of professional experience. Germany's strong insurance market offers excellent career prospects.
Founded in 1972, the Society has over 1,100 Fellow members in Ireland and serves the insurance, pensions, healthcare, and banking sectors. As an EU member state, Ireland offers strong post-qualification mobility for international actuaries.
Jai Hind College, University of Mumbai, introduced the Bachelor of Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance (BAQF) from the academic year 2025-26. The three-year interdisciplinary programme covers mathematics, statistics, financial analysis, economics, and data analytics, with a specialisation choice in Year 3. Admission is through the JHC Common Entrance Exam (JHC-CEE). The college holds autonomous status and is NAAC A++ rated.
HSNC University (Hyderabad Sind National Collegiate University), Mumbai's second cluster university, offers B.Sc. in Actuarial Science & Finance as a new three-year programme. Located in South Mumbai. The university was established in 2019 under the Maharashtra Public Universities Act and is UGC recognised. Admission is merit-based through the university's online portal.
KRMU offers BSc (Hons) Finance with an Actuarial Science specialisation track from Year 2, aligned to IFoA (UK), IAI (India), and SOA (USA) syllabi covering 6 to 8 actuarial exam papers. The programme is AEDP (Govt. of India) compliant and includes 12 months of guaranteed paid apprenticeship across two industry stints with stipends up to Rs 50,000 per month. Only 100 seats for 2026-27. Located in Gurugram with 500+ MNCs within 20 km.
Home to the Institute of Actuarial and Quantitative Studies (IAQS), Patkar-Varde offers India's only undergraduate programme IFoA-accredited for exemptions — the three-year B.Sc. in Actuarial Science and Quantitative Finance. Graduates meeting the IFoA's threshold are eligible for up to 6 exemptions: CM1, CM2, CS1, CS2, CB1, and CB2. Affiliated to the University of Mumbai.
The MSc in Actuarial Science at Patkar-Varde College became IFoA-accredited in May 2024, making it India's first accredited master's programme and giving Patkar-Varde the distinction of being the only college in India with two IFoA accredited programmes. Graduates are eligible for up to 7 exemptions including CP1.
RRU's two-year MSc in Actuarial Science with Data Analytics (hybrid programme, managed by IAQS) achieved IFoA accreditation in 2024. Graduates can earn up to 7 exemptions: CS1, CS2, CM1, CM2, CB1, CB2, and CP1. The curriculum combines actuarial fundamentals with Python, R, Power BI, and Generative AI. One of only three universities in South Asia with IFoA subject-level exemptions.
India's — and Asia's — pioneer in actuarial education, running programmes since 1991. The MSc Actuarial Science became IAI-accredited from the 2024-25 academic year, granting exemptions in CS1 and CB1 (subject to conditions). ISI's B.Stat (Hons), B.Math (Hons), M.Stat, M.Math, and MS in Quantitative Economics all qualify for IAI membership through the direct entry (non-ACET) route. ISI is an Institute of National Importance and one of the most prestigious statistics institutions in the world. Highly competitive entrance examination.
Gujarat University offers a Post Graduate Diploma in Actuarial Science (PGDAS) that qualifies graduates for IAI student membership through the non-ACET entry route. One of the earliest universities in India to offer a dedicated actuarial qualification at the postgraduate level.
Bharathiar University's BCom in Actuarial Management is recognised by IAI for the non-ACET direct entry route to student membership. Located in Coimbatore, the university is UGC-recognised and NAAC 'A+' accredited, with a strong tradition of commerce and management education.
